Nature is Healing

May 6 - June 19

Angela JohnsonOlbrich Botanical Gardens collaborates with local artist, Angela Johnson, to present Nature is Healing, an outdoor installation utilizing cyanotype prints of natural materials.

Designed to create a (safe outdoor) space for the community to come together and process the collective grief from the pandemic, the installation provides an opportunity for healing through shared experience.

Discovered in the mid-1800’s, cyanotypes are a camera-less contact photo printing process involving exposure to the sun. Several of the prints will incorporate imagery of plants native to Wisconsin, sourced from Olbrich Botanical Gardens.

Funding provided by the Madison Arts Commission’s BLINK grant program.

Exhibited in the outdoor gardens near the Serenity Garden
