Celebrate Thai culture surrounding our Thai Pavilion and Thai Garden at Olbrich Gardens' Thai Fest!

Festivities include...

  • Traditional Thai dance performances by the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute of Chicago
  • Interactive performances and demonstrations by the UW-Madison Thai Student and Thai-American Associations
  • Thai cuisine for purchase from Sa-Bai Thong

Note: Tram service will not be available during Thai Fest.


12:30 pm Intro to Thai-American Association of Madison.
12:35 pm Introduction of Thai-American Association's Children's Thai Language Class and Musical Performance of Thai Children's Songs.
12:45 pm Lesson on the Thai Greeting/Gesture of Respect: The Thai greeting referred to as the wai consists of a slight bow, with the palms pressed together in a prayer-like fashion.
12:50 pm Lesson on Basic Thai Phrases: taught by a parent of the Thai-American Association of Madison and professor of Thai at UW SEASSI program.
1:00 pm University of Wisconsin Thai Student Association: Intro to TSA with brief history of longstanding relationship with UW; Solo Dance, and Traditional Bamboo Dance with audience participation.
1:20 pm Honor the H.R.H. King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX with his Royal Anthem and Singing of the Thai National Anthem led by the Thai-American Association of Madison and the Thai Student Association.
