ongoing: olbrich's blooming butterflies

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily

Experience the wonder of strolling through a tropical forest on a search for fleeting butterflies. Live butterflies emerge from chrysalises daily in the Bolz Conservatory. Olbrich's Blooming Butterflies is a great adventure for people of all ages. Children can participate in the Butterfly Scavenger Hunt activity in the outdoor gardens while learning fun facts. Stroll through the outdoor gardens and visit the Growing Gifts shop. Parking is free. Bus tours are welcome; groups of 15 or more must register in advance by calling 608-246-4550.

Butterfly Action Day

10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Join us for a special day with local monarch conservation organizations! Interactive displays focused on monarch butterflies will highlight what you can do to help the population. Learn how to make butterfly seed bombs and pollinator seed packets, and construct a pollinator fortune teller game for kids! You can also purchase monarch hatching starter kits or butterfly seed bombs.

Madison public Library's Summer Reading Club Concert and Picnic
6 - 8 p.m.

Pack up your supper and head to Olbrich Gardens for a fun-filled family concert! Come, rain or shine, at 6 p.m. to play with bubbles, make a project with Olbrich Botanical Gardens staff, and practice voting with the Madison City Clerk's Office. Then Jack and Kitty will get your toes tapping while you munch, beginning at 7pm!

Sponsored by Overture Center for the Arts, Overture's Kids in the Rotunda, the City of Madison Clerk's Office, City of Madison Water Utility's Water Wagon, and Olbrich Gardens.
