Five Painters in the Gardens at Olbrich Botanical Gardens
June 8 - September 21
Open Sundays 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Public Opening Reception: June 18, 5- 7 p.m.
You might think five painting styles would be difficult to combine into one cohesive art exhibit, but the artwork of the "Five Painters" blends together well, since all the artists love color and nature. Their oil and acrylic paintings are on display Olbrich Botanical Gardens for the new exhibit titled, "Five Painters in the Gardens." The exhibit is on display in the Evjue Commons from June 8 through September 21 and is open on Sundays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
These five artists from different backgrounds got together more than 20 years ago and have exhibited together for six years. C.K. Chang, Bonnie Johnson, Donna Miller, David Scheifel, and Mary Dinman all share a love of painting and say they've taught each other a lot through the years. According to their artists' statement, "The thread that pulls and hold us together is our love of realist painting."
"Five Painters in the Gardens" is open on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from June 8 through September 21. Gallery Sundays are made possible by a gift from William Wartmann. A public opening reception will be held on June 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. Many pieces are for sale with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Gardens.
